Sleeping With The Enemy

There were no participants in 9-11 from Iraq. There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Most of the attackers were from Saudi Arabia. Osama Bin Laden is from Saudi Arabia. Why didn't we attack Saudi Arabia? Because of George Bush Sr. Why did we attack Iraq? Because George W. Bush wanted to try to preserve his father's legacy. We also want permanent bases in the middle east much the same as our permanent bases in Germany and Japan. We have been in those countries for more than 60 years and we will be there for 60 years more.

We paid the Taliban in Iraq to get them to stop attacking our troops. It worked. Pakistan is paying the Taliban along the border with Afghanistan to stop attacking their troops. It is working.

While calling Iran part of the "Axis of Evil" George W. Bush was talking to them knowing that our war in Iraq was benefiting Iran the most. Iran also likes that we are now cranking up the efforts in Afghanistan. Iran supported our efforts in Iraq as Iraq was their greatest threat and enemy. Iran does not want to be a world power. Iran wants a seat at the table.

The same is true of another "Axis of Evil" country, North Korea. To understand North Korea rent the movie "The Mouse that Roared" starring the late Peter Sellers.

President Obama has moved closer to world peace in two months than we did during the entire Korean War, Viet Nam War and the War in Iraq. I hope it is not too smart too late.

President Obama is now talking to Iran directly. We are now sleeping with the enemy and that is a good thing.

In case you are wondering I am a disabled Viet Nam era American Veteran. g
