I watched an interview this morning on the Today Show about old age and aging. The authors did not say that diet, exercise or a positive attitude had much to do with living a long life. What they did say is having something to do. A sense of purpose when you wake up in the morning. Somewhere to go. Something to produce. They said that some major cultures in other countries do not even have a word for retire. They just plan to work until they drop dead and that is what happens. Except they do not drop dead on the couch at 65 with the remote control in their hand. They drop dead at work at age 110.
