Just for fun will I leave a comment. The old Red Buffalo was owned by Cecil Porter and Mable Nix in those days. Cecil would fire up the ovens at somethng like 3 in the morning because he baked stuff for several restaurants all the way round from Breckenridge to Aspen then. They never really closed, but at 4 am you were lucky to get much to eat. Last time I saw the Red Buffalo would have been in 1968 I think. Cecil married Mable and they bought the 6and40 Restaurant in Idaho Springs about then. Those were to good old days when Dillon was not yet really a town, just a few cabins and a gas station. Sure has changed!

Your 800 miles/week are "easy" miles. Easy for the car, that is; not stop-and-go driving. What is amazing is that 175,000 is not unusual, it is the norm. I remember when 75,000 was a huge mileage goal. All brands of cars are so much better today.

I'm glad that Honda recommends oil changes at 7000 miles. Too many manufacturers still recommend 3000. I change every 10,000 and the oil still looks fine.

Gary you are lucky is 2011, there is infinite choices for gluten free. Even some of my own snack are and I do not even realized that until I really look at it. Keystone is gonna come up with a gluten free selection because many people is allergic.

Complicated political issues that can't be won on logic and truth quite often are redirected to mislead with an emotional edge to confuse and defeat an issue. Most of us naturally shy away from complicated social issues unless it directly effects us.

Depending on who you hang with complicated science is being embraced by many people. Simple things in life quite often have the most satisfaction and sometimes are very intellectually based. Emc2. Colorado people seem to embrace nature which usually offers peace of mind in a simple way. Music can be very complicated or simple but it's the feeling that makes it great.

I am asking Gary to help me with a very complicated and emotional issue. I recently gave a talk to a group about tobacco. Reading the dept. of health web site I found that Colorado is in the middle of America when it comes to reform. After seeing a ballot issue on the last election about funding for UFO studies I have decided to find a way to get an increased tobacco tax and on the next state Ballot. Are you up for it.

When I was teaching Fire Science at CMC, there was a young man in the class who slept through the classes that he attended, which was strange since most of the students were working to become professional firemen.

When he flunked the exam and therefore flunked the class, his mother came and asked if I could pass him. She said that he was taking the class as a "judicial requirement". I was amused and told her that he had a problem that I had no cure for.

Oh, yes! I spent 33 years starting after Labor day and ending the third week in June. As I got "more important" (laugh) we started in late August. No complaints...we've been retired since 1992 and enjoyed every minute of it.
Have to admit, though, that I'm in favor of year-round school. Too many of our students regress in those lost summer months.
